The historic village of Wilno is the first Polish settlement in Canada. The village lies in the Wilno pass where the trains first took the mighty timber from Algonquin Park...today the railway track is a hiking and snowmobiling trail. The Wilno Hills are famous for their beautiful fall foliage. From the lookout by our twin spired church high on the hill you can see three lakes and the beauty of the surrounding valleys. Wilno is a vibrant artistic community with galleries, shops, a lively pub with social events and an excellent cafe serving wonderful desserts and delicious meals. There is a small museum and a scenic heritage park in village centre and in winter there is an outdoor skating rink and cross-country skiing on nearby trails. There are many small lakes near t the village and a lovely sandy beach nearby, as well as Polish monuments and shrines and many lovely trails and roads to explore on foot, bike or car.Transport
